The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid offers segment-best EPA estimated gas mileage of 46 mpg.  The midsize sedan is powered by a direct-injected 1.8L engine paired with a two-motor drive unit.  This vehicle features Chevrolet's first use of Exhaust Gas Heat Recovery, a technology that uses heat from the exhaust to warm the engine.  The 2016 Chevy Malibu Hybrid uses an 80-cell, 1.5 kWH lithium-ion battery pack to send electric power to the hybrid system.

Chevrolet Introduces Active Phone Cooling Feature

Chevrolet has introduced an Active Phone Cooling feature which will debut on several 2016 models when equipped with the available wireless charging.  Vehicles that will have this innovative new feature available include 2016 Malibu, 2016 Volt, 2016 Impala, and 2016 Cruze.  

The Active Phone Cooling feature aims at reducing the issue of smartphone overheating which can lead to ineffective charging.  This often occurs when the temperature in the vehicle or cell phone charging area gets too high.   With the Active Phone Cooling system an air vent connected to the air conditioning and ventilation system is directed to the charging bin to lower the phone's temperature.  This occurs when the vehicle's HVAC system is activated.  

2016 Chevrolet Malibu is Lightest in Midsize Sedan Segment

The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu will be almost 300 pounds lighter than previous models, making it the lightest in the midsize sedan segment.  The lighter Malibu will mean better fuel efficiency and an improved driving experience.  Chevrolet focused on five main areas to reduce vehicle weight:

• Lighter, stronger body structure
• Greater use of aluminum
• Streamlined instrument panel assembly and lighter power accessories
• Lighter leather seats and other soft materials
• Lighter engine

The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu goes on sale later in 2015 and will be offered in four trim levels:  L, LS, LT, and Premier.  There will also be an available Hybrid model.

2016 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid Offers Unsurpassed Segment Fuel Economy

The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid, revealed last week, is expected to offer unsurpassed fuel economy for the midsize sedan segment.  The Malibu Hybrid features technology from the Chevrolet Volt.  General Motors estimates it will deliver an estimated 48 mpg city and 45 mpg highway for a combined 47 mpg.   The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid is expected in showrooms in spring 2016.

Chevrolet Reveals Restyled 2016 Malibu

The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu has been revealed!  Malibu has been completely restyled with focus on more efficiency, connectivity, and advanced safety features.  It is longer by almost 4" and almost 300 pounds lighter.  The Malibu will be available in the L, LS, LT, and Premier trim levels as well as a Hybrid.  We expect the 2016 Malibu to be available in late 2015.

2016 Chevrolet Malibu Debuts Teen Driver System

The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu will debut the Teen Driver safety system to help promote safe driving habits for young drivers.  The system has many features including a report card that parents can view on the display.  The report provides details about how their teen drove such as top speed reached, distance driven, and number of times active safety features engaged.  The feature is linked to specific key fobs and will only activate with the use of those fobs.  

Decades of Testing Shaped 2016 Chevrolet Malibu

Decades of testing have gone into the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, set to debut on April 1st.  Data collection boxes placed on the vehicles during testing provide real-world driving data on experiences such as extreme climates, varied weather conditions, and rough road surfaces.  The data is used to create a vehicle designed to take on a wide variety of driving experiences!  The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu is expected at dealerships in late 2015.

Next Generation Chevrolet Malibu to Debut at New York International Auto Show

The next generation Chevrolet Malibu will debut at the New York International Auto Show in April.  Malibu's new styling includes a longer wheelbase which offers increased interior space.  In addition, the Malibu is expected to be about 300 pounds lighter meaning better fuel economy and handling.  The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu is expected to offer increased efficiency, connectivity and advanced safety features.  We will post more information and photos as they are available!
