Get Your Vehicle Ready for the Changing Weather

Get Your Vehicle Ready for the Winter Weather at the Emich Chevrolet Service Department.

As we enjoy these beautiful, crisp days of autumn, it is time to start thinking about the upcoming winter weather.  Preparing your vehicle for these weather changes in advance can lead to less stress and potential expense later.  It is easy to prepare your vehicle for the challenges of winter driving.

Check Exterior Lights-- Walk around the vehicle and ensure that all exterior lights are in working condition.  Also, be sure to clean surfaces of the lights.

Replace Wiper Blades--  Old wiper blades may have dents and cracks that prevent the wipers from working most efficiently.  This is also a good time to top off the wiper fluid.

Check Brakes and Tires--  Check both for signs of wear.  The expert technicians at Emich Chevrolet can assist you with this.  In addition, let us check your battery since cold weather can be especially challenging for car batteries.

Perform an Oil and Filter Change-- Colder weather puts increased demand on your vehicle so help it meet the demands by having an oil and filter change performed.  This is also a great time to make sure all fluids are topped off.  Emich Chevrolet's Service Department can take care of this for you quickly and efficiently.

In addition to preparing your vehicle for the changing weather, there is no better time to prepare a 'winter emergency box' to keep in the trunk.  Should you become stuck, the items in your winter emergency box could be essential.  Pack the box with such items as a flashlight, gloves, a blanket, first aid kit, some healthy snacks, and a small bag of sand to use for traction if needed.

Planning ahead can lead to a pleasant driving experience during the colder winter months!  Schedule an appointment at Emich Chevrolet and let us perform a free Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection (print coupon here).  This will help you evaluate any needed maintenance or repairs before the snow falls!
