2014 Chevrolet Impala Can Help Ease Night Driving Anxiety

From Chevrolet.com:

With Daylight Saving Time ending this Sunday, many people will drive in the dark more often. For those uneasy with night driving, the 2014 Chevrolet Impala can help brighten the task.
The enhanced visibility provided by Impala’s headlamps can help drivers avoid crashes after dark, the riskiest time of day. According to a study cited by the Federal Highway Administration, the risk of a fatality at night among drivers not impaired by alcohol is more than two times higher than in daytime due to less visibility.
According to a 2009 study conducted by the Lighting Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, high-intensity discharge, or HID, headlamps like those on the new Impala can help drivers see objects in the road sooner than other types of headlamps, allowing for greater stopping distance.
Impala’s new headlamps are a key to one of the most comprehensive collections of standard and available safety features in the segment. Impala received the highest possible 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for safety as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Program.
All 2014 Impala models are equipped with projector beam headlamp technology, a first for the redesigned flagship sedan. The LS and LT models use halogen projectors, while the up-level LTZ uses HID bi-functional xenon projectors that offer crisper and brighter illumination.

Chevrolet Silverado Benefits From Extensive Durability Testing

From Chevrolet.com:

Each of those shiny new Silverados in Chevrolet dealerships benefits from 12.5 million miles of durability testing before the first customer ever receives the keys.
From the scorching desert of Yuma, Ariz. to the sub-zero cold of Kapuskasing, Ontario, and the outdoor torture tests of General Motors’ Milford Proving Ground in Milford, Mich., the all-new full-size trucks completed more than 4 million miles of combined vehicle durability testing. In addition, a fleet of test vehicles racked up 8.2 million miles of real-world mileage.
Validation and durability testing pushed the trucks to their limits before they went into production in Silao, Mexico, Flint, Mich., and Fort Wayne, Ind. In many of the tests, the trucks are loaded to gross vehicle weight. While most customers do not drive fully loaded on a regular basis, these tests ensure the Silverado can withstand even the most demanding conditions.
“It takes refinement and testing to build the strength that our customers expect and rely on from their trucks,” said Phillip Hubler, vehicle system engineer. “Our philosophy with the 2014 trucks was to improve what needed to be improved and leave alone what was already considered world class.”

Hands-Free Texting Offered on 2014 Chevrolet Malibu

From Chevrolet.com:

New connectivity features support safer driving
The available Chevrolet MyLink for the 2014 Malibu delivers enhanced connectivity and convenience, with the new Text-to-Voice feature for smartphone users and Siri for iPhone users. Each enables voice-controlled connectivity.
Text-to-Voice converts incoming messages to speech, reads them over the audio system speakers and allows the driver to reply with preset messages such as, “I’m driving and will contact you later.” Users can create and save their own preset messages when the vehicle is in Park. The feature requires a compatible smartphone with Bluetooth profile and applicable text messaging features.
Visit www.gmtotalconnect.com for further information on phone and radio capability. Driver safety is General Motors’ first priority. A driver’s focus should remain on driving and texting can usually wait. So, only text and drive with this voice system and never text using a handheld device while driving.
The 2014 Malibu is offered in LS, LT and LTZ models, with pricing starting at $22,965 including destination, but excluding tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional features. All models include a two-year/24-month scheduled maintenance program, which covers four oil changes, tire rotations and 27-point inspections.
